But never let it be said Get Soft choose the easy roads or obvious films: instead of going for one of her big name projects, we decided to talk about Powerplay, a 1999 erotic thriller slash sort of comedy? Something like that. It is a weird one, either way - after the death of her step father, a ‘90s hot young woman chases down the gold digging black widow who was responsible for his demise. She also brings along her 40-something boyfriend, who has zero charisma, and even less idea of how to track someone down with any kind of subtlety. There’s kickboxing, there’s some serious, serious gore, strange comic relief, a soundtrack that makes at least half the cast of the show cry with laughter, and copious amounts of Shannon Tweed acting evil.
