Our buds Ash and Avery from well-liked-cousin-podcast For the Story are back, and we decide to turn to a reliable old friend, Ernest G. Sauer, and check out his 1995 newsroom comedy Broadcast Bombshells! There’s also a telethon, complete with comedy guests including an accordionist, and the threat of a bomb hanging over the whole thing. Somehow, though, no one really recalls much of the movie, with the obvious exception of Joey Mennonna’s classic hit Kitten with a Whip (written for the movie, not actually a hit).
We also talk about the life and career of the movie’s star, Amy Lynn Baxter. Baxter was Penthouse Pet of the Month in June 1990, and made an absolute fortune from feature erotic dancing and some seriously smart money management. She also had a confusing engagement to Ed Begley Jr.!
